John Mayall is credited with helping the English take on urban, Chicago-style rhythm and blues that played an important role in the development of the blues Revival of the 1960s. At various times, young versions of Peter Green, Jack Bruce, John McVie, Eric Clapton, Mick Fleetwood, and Mick Taylor all played as understudies with Mayall.
